Will there be any Cruises in the rest of 2020?
The year started out in record territories. The Cruise industry was on track to having one of the best years on record. As you know in mid January we began to hear about a virus in Wuhan, China and by the end of the month travel was being restricted. The world began to go into a lockdown and travel stop at every level from flights to resorts and yes cruises.
Restart of sail dates that where set for March then April only then to be moved to the end of June. The cruise lines have been on hold and finally the other day the Carnival Corporation announced they would begin to sail at a minimum scale on August 1st. This is a week after the no sail date that was put into place by CDC is due to expire.
Will the cruise industry make a comeback? I believe it will, things will be different at first and it will start off slow and once people start to see improvements and the safety precautions that will be put into place to protect the passengers and crew the people will come back! Here’s to Late summer of 2020 and the New Year 2021!
